Attributed groups :
1 5+ CBE group to Captain George Percy LEITH, as : Military CBE in 18 ct gold, (LG 27th


May 1919), Boer War QSA, no bar, Africa GSM / bar Jubaland, WW1 pair. (Also


awarded the Greece Royal Order of the Redeemer, 3rd class in 1914, but missing).


With set of copy papers, confirming awards and his service history. From Walmer in


Kent, he joined up in 1892. As Commander in 1913, he served in the Naval Mission to


Greece; in WW1 he was commended twice, once for trying to ram a submarine, and


later for his role in keeping afloat HMS Falmouth, after it was hit by 4 torpedoes.


All medals with lovely aged lustrous tone, and swivellers. EF £220




2 5+3+1 Military OBE group to Brigadier Daniel ANSTEY, Royal Indian Army Service Corps,


OBE Mil'y (LG 16/8/1938), WW1 pair (MiD), India GSM / 2 bars - Waziristan 1921-24,


NWFrontier 1930-31, India GSm / bar NWFrontier 1936-37. These 5 mounted as


worn, plus WW2 1939/45 star, War medal and India WW2 1939-45 medal.


Plus the Civil Defence LS medal EIIR. Together with a sheaf of copy papers, noting


his service. With the Worcestershire Regiment in WW1, then transferred to 2/14


Punjab Regt. MiD 5/3/1919 with 31st Punjabis, 3 x MiD for WW2 : 16/11/1937,


6/4/1938 and 20/6/1941. Medals GVF++, nicely toned. £95




3 5 MSM group to S/Sergeant Tom BLAKELEY, RAMC, as : Meritorious Service medal


Geo V (LG 3/6/1919), WW1 1914/15 trio, plus French Medal of Honour with swords


(Medaille des Epidemies) - LG 15/12/1919. He was in Gallipoli in 1915 with 16th


Sanitary Section, from Carlisle, in later life he rose to be Borough Architect &


Surveyor in Dewsbury. Died in 1935, aged 44. With much copied paperwork,


including newspaper obituaries, and career. GVF+ £85




4 5 WW2 group to 1149194 Act'g l/Bombadier Ernest James WILLIS, 25th Field Regt.,


Royal Artillery, as - 1939/45 star, F&G star, Defence and War, plus French Croix


de Guerre (War Cross), dated 1939 on reverse. Plus copy of the French award


document, and a typed copy of the Battery records, noting his "courage..." GVF £45
